That includes Buck Buchanan Award winner Andrew Zock, the nation's top FCS defensive player in 2025, who should immediately strengthen Toledo's defense and is a legit NFL prospect.

The schedule is favorable, with likely wins against Central Connecticut State, UMass, Buffalo, and Eastern Michigan already putting the Rockets halfway to the number. I also believe Toledo has a better chance of upsetting Michigan State than most projections suggest, and there isn't a single game on this schedule that the Rockets will be dramatically outmatched. They probably won't run the table, but they have a legitimate shot to win every game they play. My projection is at least 8 wins at the worst.
